No big news were published about SMTP Control since the last 0.4.0 release ... but I'm working in the background on the 0.5.0 release ...

There will be a big correction/missing feature, with the ability to support several identities on a single mail account. Previous version generate errors that block the ability to send emails (annoying ...)

There will be the introduction of WiFi detection to improve location. This is a great feature, because the need for location detection is mainly for moving people ... and moving people have laptops with WiFi. It's working quite well on my windows XP system (even detecting on which floor I am at the office), but I do need to validate the installation on other systems and languages. Specifically the user need to allow thunderbird to have access to WiFi informations from the operating system.

And there is also a big improvment in the coding behind the scene by using Javascript Modules. The idea is to improve the add-on startup time and information synchronisation between windows and dialogs.

The current version is available as a beta on PhpConcept website. You can try it at your own risks : Download the beta.
